Escape Hatch Foundation

Escape Hatch Foundation promotes literacy and a lifelong love of reading by expanding access to comics and graphic literature for readers of all ages.

What We Do
Comics in the Classroom
We work with schools and educators to place high-interest, age-appropriate comics directly into classrooms. Through workshops, classroom libraries, and teacher support, students learn how to read comics closely–building vocabulary, comprehension, and confidence.

Comics Lending Library & Community Access
We build free, circulating collections of comics and graphic novels in partnership with libraries and community spaces, removing barriers between readers and stories.

Outreach & Community Partnerships
We bring comics into clinics, community centers, events, and other non-traditional settings—meeting readers where they already are and making reading visible, welcoming, and normal.

How You Can Help:
Donate Funds

Financial contributions support classroom libraries, lending collections, workshops, and free comic access.

Donate Comics
We gladly accept donations of comics and books—from single issues to entire collections. Donated materials are used to support classrooms, lending libraries, and community programs.

Sponsor a Classroom
A classroom sponsorship puts a curated set of comics directly into students’ hands.

Volunteer
Help with events, outreach, and literacy programs.

Partner with Us
Schools, libraries, clinics, and local businesses can collaborate on literacy programs and access initiatives.
